As we grew up, my father incentivized my sister and I to read and to read as much as possible. The Bible tells us that God's people are destroyed because of a lack of knowledge (Hosea 4:6) and Proverbs makes it clear that we are to pursue wisdom in every area of life. We live in a time when there is increasing illiteracy and increasing Biblical illiteracy. It's more important than ever before that we encourage our children to read as they grow up. Here is a compilation of many of the books my father had us read. I have also updated this list with a few additions.
